Ryota Yamasato (山里亮太) is a comedian, narrator and radio personality. He is a member of comedy duo Nankai Candies with Shizuyo Yamazaki. He is also well known with his nickname Yamachan (山ちゃん).
He is a well known supporter for idol groups, most prominently AKB48. He is also supporter of Momoiro Clover Z, where he had been costarred in various of their events.
Biography[]
Yamasato is a graduate of 22th class Osaka Branch Yoshimoto Kogyo's New Star Creation (NSC) school of comedian. He did the comedian school along with studied in the Faculty of Literature of Kansai University Department of Education. After graduation, he joined many combi (comedy duo) comedian group activities including Ashigaru Emperor, Samurai Punch and Italian Jin. He is active throughout TVs and Radios after formed Nankai Candies with Shizuyo. His rise of fame made him to not only appears in variety shows, he made his way in the TV dramas and movies.[1]
He is known as an avid idol lover and supporter. He often appeared as the MC of AKB48's program, including as the referee of AKB48 Single Senbatsu Janken Taikai from 2010 through 2012.
History with Momoiro Clover[]
On December 21, 2010, Momoiro Clover is invited as a guest in his radio show JUNK Yamasato Ryota no Fumouna Gomon and from this show the number of their appearances gradually increases.[2] Yamasato held a special episode of his radio show on April 4, 2011 with the members with Akari Hayami as guests in order to send her off to walk in a new path after her graduation on April 10, 2011. There were a numbers of cheer messages from fan telephone calls to Akari.[3]
He was featured in several of their events and TV shows, including as the regular MC and moderator in the series of talk events Momoclo Chan Presents: Momoiro Clover Z Shiren no Nanaban Shoubu and as the commentator in Momoiro Christmas 2011 Saitama Super Arena Taikai. He is a self-proclaimed "big-brother" of the members.
